Daniel Farke must show ruthless side with Calvert-Lewin after what he did in Leeds win vs West Ham
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has sparked mixed reactions throughout his time with Leeds so far.
Leeds secured a 2-1 win against West Ham on Friday night, though the scoreline doesn’t actually reflect just how comfortable the victory was.
The Whites were coasting after Joe Rodon doubled Leeds’ advantage, and Mateus Fernandes’ injury time header proved to be nothing but a coinsolation goal for the Hammers.
All round, it was a solid display from the Whites, but concerns still remain as strong as ever over Calvert-Lewin.

What does Calvert-Lewin need to do to be dropped?
For the sixth time in seven games, Calvert-Lewin was unable to get on the score sheet for Leeds against West Ham.
Not only that, but he was completely ineffective from start to finish whenever the Whites had possession of the ball.
Via FotMob, he lost 11 of his 16 aerial duels in the clash and completed just 50 per cent of his attempted passes.
Calvert-Lewin ran, and that was just about it from his display at Elland Road, and it is an all too familiar feeling.
It wasn’t costly on this occasion, but if Daniel Farke doesn’t drop Calvert-Lewin going forward, Leeds will throw some valuable points away.
Joel Piroe is still waiting for his real chance at Leeds in the Premier League, while Lukas Nmecha’s involvement has been nearly non-existent since his opening day goal against Everton.
His stats for the season don’t get any better
This wasn’t just a bad day for Calvert-Lewin; it has been a repeated theme throughout his time with Leeds so far.
From 1.77 xG, the 28-year-old has scored just once, with just 50 per cent of his shots actually hitting the target.
A 12.5 per cent dribble success rate shows his limitations on the ball, and his 39.3 per cent aerial duel win rate demonstrates how weak he actually is as a target man.
He isn’t quick, he doesn’t score, and he’s very rarely effective when it comes to holding the ball up.
Leeds need to see significantly more from Calvert-Lewin if they are to stick with him, or take what seems to be the most reasonable option, which is to drop him.
