Daniel Farke must do one thing at Leeds to address worrying trend vs Tottenham
Leeds United have recorded eight points since gaining promotion to the Premier League.
Life back in the big time was always going to be difficult for the Whites, but they have proved to be resilient as Daniel Farke‘s side have only lost twice in their opening six league matches.
The summer transfer window allowed Leeds to boost their attacking options with Farke choosing to sign the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor.
But as the season transitions into October, a trend has emerged that the German manager must address if his side are to remain in the Premier League.

Leeds struggling up top as stat is revealed
Leeds were serial entertainers last season as they heavily outscored opponents after netting 95 goals in the Championship, and built a formidable attack that went on to achieve 100 points as well as the league title.
But as seen with many newly promoted sides, once they hit the heights of the Premier League, their output up front begins to dry out.

With the exception of Leeds’ 3-2 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, they have scored three goals across five games and have struggled to add the killer edge that is required for Premier League-level football.
Farke’s side have only managed to create 1.5 big chances per game, which highlights they are struggling to offer their forwards decent opportunities to find the back of the net.

Although Leeds have prided themselves on using their defence to grab vital draws in games against Newcastle United and Bournemouth, they cannot be expected to rely on their defence all season.
With Dan James now ruled out injured, the Whites now have their attacking options further thinned out and in need of other players to step up.
Joel Piroe can help solve Leeds’ attacking issues
Joel Piroe started up front in their season-opening win against Everton.
The Dutchman scored 19 goals and provided seven assists for Farke’s side last season and was pivotal in their promotion charge.

Although he was used as a striker in the 2024-25 season, the 24-year-old also provided his use in a deeper role, which made Leeds such an attacking threat in the Championship.
It has been suggested that Piroe can play in a number 10 role, he has not been entrusted with this responsibility this season.
When highlighting his shot-creating actions per 90 minutes in their promotion-winning season, he outperformed creative midfielders such as Ao Tanaka and Brenden Aaronson.
On top of his build up play, the Dutchman was also back by Farke in his press conference ahead of Leeds’ match against Tottenham Hotspur, stating he is ‘one of the best finishers he has worked with.
It is not certain whether Piroe is equipped for Premier League but it is only fair he is given the opportunity to prove he is.
Having only played two league games this season, he will be chomping at the bit to prove he has got what it takes to play in the top division of English football.
