Daniel Farke must address alarming Leeds United statistic to avoid Premier League relegation
Leeds United have started their Premier League campaign solidly, with four points from their opening three matches.
All four of the points Daniel Farke’s side have picked up so far this season have been at Elland Road, but they have an ideal opportunity to change this at the weekend.
Leeds travel to Craven Cottage to play Fulham on Saturday as they look to pick up their first points on the road.
However, with Lukas Nmecha’s penalty against Everton being the only goal United have scored so far, Farke must address his forward line before they make the trip down south.

Leeds United’s attack ranked bottom of Premier League for alarming stat
Controversially, the 49ers have placed their hopes in two injury-prone free agents in Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to lead the line under Farke at various points in the season.
With Joel Piroe failing to impress when he has featured, the Dutchman has arguably already fallen to being the third-choice striker despite winning the Golden Boot in the Championship last season.
It is not just the strikers who have struggled so far this season, with Willy Gnonto and Dan James also struggling to stamp their authority in any of the matches the Whites have played so far.
Although the 49ers’ lack of investment will benefit Calvert-Lewin and Gnonto, as there is less competition for starting positions in the final third, it will ultimately hurt Leeds in the long run.
According to Opta, Leeds have had the fewest shots on target out of any Premier League side so far, recording just five in their opening three matches.
- The next lowest amount of shots is eight
- Everton, Wolves and Newcastle are all the joint second-worst in the Premier League when it comes to shots on target so far
- Farke cannot afford for his forward line to be so devoid of ideas if he wants to pick up points consistently
The travelling United supporters will be hoping that their side adds to this total considerably this weekend.

What changes can Daniel Farke make to remedy this?
Firstly, the German must embed Noah Okafor into the starting XI sooner rather than later.
Whilst the Swiss winger is an unknown commodity so far, he simply cannot be worse than what we have seen from Gnonto and James so far.
Calvert-Lewin should also be handed his first start by Farke, as although his finishing has already raised concerns, his movement and ability to get into good areas are undoubtedly the best out of the strikers Farke has at his disposal.
