Daniel Farke may have late Leeds rethink vs Wolves after what’s been spotted at Thorp Arch

Leeds United face Wolves at Molineux on Saturday in their next Premier League fixture, with Daniel Farke having plenty to ponder.

With Gabriel Gudmundsson’s own goal meaning Leeds left Craven Cottage empty-handed last weekend, the pressure is on the Whites to pick up at least a point against Wolves.

Wolves are the only side in the division to be sat on zero points from their opening four fixtures, and if Leeds were to lose, all the positive emotions regarding their solid start to the season would quickly come crashing down.

Farke had supporters worried with the injury updates he issued in his pre-game press conference, but the latest footage from Thorp Arch suggests he may have to reconsider his team selection for Saturday.

Willy Gnonto could make surprise Leeds appearance against Wolves

Alongside Dan James, Gnonto was labelled a doubt by Farke ahead of the crucial clash between two sides that will likely be in a relegation battle this season.

With Brenden Aaronson failing to impress on the wing against Fulham, United supporters had resigned themselves to the fact that Jack Harrison could be reintegrated into the starting XI for the first time this season in the Premier League.

However, the latest training footage out of Thorp Arch has seemingly handed Leeds a major boost, with Gnonto spotted training with the team on Thursday despite the issues the Italian has with his calf.

If that is indeed the case, it will likely be that Gnonto does start for Leeds after all.

Wolves game is a must not lose for Leeds already

If Leeds cannot pick up their first away points of the season against a struggling Wolves side, the pressure on United will be ramped up tenfold.

If Gudmundsson’s header had flown over the bar instead of past Karl Darlow, then Leeds supporters may have settled for a point if they also managed to pick one up against Fulham.

But now, some may feel this game is a must-win.

However, coming away with zero points potentially from these two games would be criminal and would be an eye-opening experience for the 49ers that Leeds’ stay in the Premier League may be very short-lived.
