Daniel Farke could be facing a potentially catastrophic situation at Leeds United by the time Christmas arrives.

The Whites have endured a mixed start to the Premier League season, and they are currently hovering precariously above the dreaded dotted line at the foot of the table.

Farke is coming under pressure at Leeds of late, and while his team haven’t had a woeful start to the campaign by any means, there is certainly a nagging feeling that they could be doing a lot better.

There is a fear building up at Elland Road of late, and the only way for that to subside is if consistent results begin to come their way.

Leeds play six teams from Premier League’s top-half before 2026

Leeds were beaten 3-1 away at Nottingham Forest in their last outing, despite the fact that they took an early lead through the game through Lukas Nmecha.

It was another potential relegation ‘six-pointer’ that went against the West Yorkshire outfit, after they had already been beaten by both Burnley and Fulham so far this term.

Things are unlikely to get any better for the Whites after their return from the November international break, as they are set to embark on a frankly scary run of fixtures between now and the new year.

Farke’s men will face teams from the top half of the Premier League in six of their next seven games, a torrid run which includes a trip to Manchester City, plus the visits of both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Just two points currently seperate the newly-promoted outfit and Forest, who currently sit 19th, and given their upcoming run of games, it is highly likely that Leeds will find themselves rooted inside the bottom three at Christmas.

Rob Edwards’ appointment will also bring renewed hope to Wolves, who could even enjoy an upturn in form themselves, which would leave Leeds in a truly catastrophic situation by the end of the festive period.

The Whites’ poor start highlighted by favourable fixtures so far

Leeds have no intention of sacking Farke at the moment, but that could soon change if their situation worsens as expected in the coming weeks.

The reality behind their start to the season becomes abundantly clear when you consider the favourable run of fixtures that they have had so far in their return to the top flight.

The LS11 side have played just three of the current top 10 in the Premier League so far in 2025-26, meaning their tally of 11 points is an undeniably poor effort, given the quality of opposition that they have faced.

That run of form has left them in the daunting position where they need to take points off some of the division’s top sides between now and 2026, or they risk being cut adrift at the bottom.

Farke’s position would surely be untenable if that scenario were to play out, and with that in mind, he surely faces a pivotal few weeks on the horizon.
