Daniel Farke has underlying Anton Stach concern as he tops Leeds ranks for this striking stat
Leeds United should be concerned about Anton Stach’s performances despite some of the promising signs that he has shown so far this season.
The German has attracted plenty of praise during the early stages of his debut campaign in the Premier League, after he moved to LS11 from Hoffenheim over the summer.
Stach has largely been an impressive performer for Leeds so far this term, and the fact that he has won a higher percentage of his aerial duels than any other player in the league is a testament to how well he has adapted.
However, things are certainly not going well for Daniel Farke’s side at the moment, and Stach cannot be absolved of any blame after the emergence of this striking stat.

Anton Stach leads Leeds for successful final third passes
Stach has been a key player for Leeds so far in 2025-26, but he has also been part of an attack that is failing to achieve the required level in order for the team to stay in the Premier League.
The Whites’ tally of 10 league goals so far this term is only better than that of Wolves, who are sitting rock bottom of the division at the 11-game mark.
While Stach is not directly part of the attacking unit at Elland Road, he is regularly one of the players charged with breaking forward from the midfield and supporting the attack.
The 27-year-old has been largely successful at that so far, which is highlighted by the fact that he has completed 95 successful passes in the final third, according to LUFCData via their X account.
That is the highest tally of anybody in the Leeds squad, and while it outlines the German’s ability to pick out passes in a threatening area, it also brings to light an issue that will concern Farke.
Stach has just one assist to his name so far in 2025-26, and has an xA total of just 0.77. Given the number of passes that he has played in the final third, he would surely have been expected to have created a stronger end product for his team.

The volume of passes that the ex-Mainz star is playing near the opposition goal is hugely promising for Leeds, but it is clear at the moment that he isn’t regularly playing that killer pass.

Goals from midfield could be the answer for Daniel Farke
Leeds’ striker struggles have been well-publicised so far this season, with almost all of their regular attacking options firmly out of favour at the start of the campaign.
It looks likely to be a major barrier for the Elland Road outfit when it comes to securing their top-flight status for another year, but Farke and Co. may actually have the solution from within.
Both Stach and his midfield partner Sean Longstaff have the ability to break forward and become goal threats for their team, and that is something that the boss should be trying to encourage them to do even more in the coming weeks.
The West Yorkshire outfit are lacking a consistent goalscorer at the top of the pitch, and contributions from elsewhere will be vital in order to share the burden in front of goal.
Stach and Longstaff are two players who have impressed with their performances so far, but they are both still capable of exerting an even bigger level of influence.
