Daniel Farke has put final nail in Ruben Amorim’s coffin after Leeds draw vs Man United

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim continued his struggles against Leeds United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Elland Road hosted Man United on 4 January, with the points shared between two fierce rivals after the 1-1 draw.

Daniel Farke must’ve been disappointed to see Matheus Cunha score less than three minutes after Brenden Aaronson gave the Whites the lead.

The German manager will surely feel the West Yorkshire outfit could’ve secured all three points against Amorim’s team, but they still might have done irreparable damage to the Portuguese manager.

Ruben Amorim goes on Manchester United rant after draw vs Leeds

It looks like Farke may have put the final nail in Amorim’s coffin at Man United, with the visiting manager rattled after the game.

The former Sporting CP boss went on a rant about being the manager at Old Trafford rather than a head coach after dropping points at Elland Road.

With the Portuguese manager seemingly taking shots at the Red Devils’ hierarchy, his days could potentially be numbered in Manchester.

Speaking in his post-match press conference after the draw, Amorim said, “I just want to say I came here to be the manager, not to be the coach. In every department — the scouting department, the sporting director — [they] need to do their job. I will do mine for 18 months, and then we move on.”

Farke’s prospects at Leeds have turned upside down, and it wasn’t long ago that questions were swirling about his future in LS11.

The West Yorkshire outfit are now on a seven-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, and only a fool would bet on the German manager not lasting until the end of the season.

Daniel Farke puts Ruben Amorim to shame with Premier League record

Farke deserves all the praise at Elland Road, with the former Norwich City boss getting the Whites through a considerably challenging period without losing.

Amorim should hang his head in shame that the German manager has managed to achieve a better unbeaten run in the Premier League than he has.

Since the Portuguese head coach’s appointment in November 2024, the longest the Red Devils have gone without losing in the Premier League is five games.

Compared to Amorim, who’s spent a significant sum on recruitment at Old Trafford, Farke hasn’t had much to work with, making his achievements all the more meaningful.
