Daniel Farke will be happy enough with Leeds United's point away at Aston Villa on Saturday, but it could have been so much more.

Leeds led at Villa Park thanks to Anton Stach's delightful free-kick, with that the third one he has scored from in the Premier League this season.

But the Whites could not hold on for maximum points on their travels once again as Tammy Abraham equalised in the 88th minute.

The draw ultimately moves Leeds one point closer to safety, albeit that will not sound quite as good should West Ham beat Bournemouth in the evening game.

And Farke will surely be concerned at the manner in which Leeds continue to ship goals so late in matches.

Leeds lead Premier League for late goals conceded

The goal conceded at Villa Park was the 14th in the final 15 minutes of a Premier League game this season for Leeds.

That is more than any other team in the English top flight in that time period and is something that needs to be looked at.

Leeds would have been completely safe from any sort of relegation fears at this stage if they had held on in more of those matches.

As it is, the gap on the bottom three is still far too close for comfort, even if every Leeds fan would have taken 31 points from 27 matches.

Ian Harte's Leeds record in Anton Stach's sight

As mentioned, Stach has now scored directly from three free-kicks in the Premier League this season, this latest being the best of the lot.

That is just one shy of the record held by Ian Harte for the most in a single campaign in the competition by a Leeds player, set in 2000-01.

With plenty of games still to go, Stach will fancy his chances of matching that long-standing record at the very least.

Stach's goal had Leeds on course for a rare away win and a massive one at that, but it was not to be.

Farke will just hope these late goals conceded do not come back to haunt his side come the end of the campaign.
