Daniel Farke gets it all wrong with bleak Leeds United January transfer admission
Daniel Farke has admitted that Leeds United will only sign players who fit his strict criteria in the January transfer window.
Leeds are in a fight for survival in the Premier League, and are almost certainly going to need several additions in January.
Farke has been on the verge of losing his job this season, and a lot of the pressure has come from his own unhelpful comments.
Leeds are braced for a battle with PSR in the upcoming transfer market, and may need to sell before buying.
However, with the German’s latest remark, he is once again failing to inspire anyone from a Leeds perspective.

Daniel Farke’s hesitation will cost Leeds in January
The amount of money that the Whites will be able to spend in January will be restricted, which means that Farke may have to depend on the loan market.
While there is usually a massive opportunity to sign high-quality players on loan in the winter market, the Leeds boss insists that he will remain “picky” over who to bring to LS11.
January is not the time to move slowly on targets, and we’ve seen it before; Farke has missed out on key players from his shortlists in the past.
- Leeds spent over £100million in the summer
- The Whites brought 10 new players to Elland Road
- Leeds may be forced to shop in the loan market due to PSR concerns
While speaking to the press on Thursday, Sky Sports captured the moment that Farke expressed his overly critical view in response to a question about the loan market.
Farke said: “I think the January market is difficult. I’m very picky in January, and for that you need many things to come together.
“We always have to stay awake, and if we find an addition that we think will make our group available, then we will be open to it.”
There’s no doubt that Leeds’ relegation rivals will be active in the market, and every minute matters next month.

Why the 49ers are partly to blame for poor January preparation
Up until December, it felt like Farke’s Leeds sacking was inevitable, until the 49-year-old pulled off results over Liverpool and Chelsea.
Due to this, the lack of preparation ahead of the January window from the 49ers has been visible for all to see, and supporters should be braced for frustration.
Farke has already admitted that Leeds don’t have concrete plans for the transfer window, which is exactly the opposite of what the Leeds fanbase wants to hear.
It’s all because of the uncertainty surrounding Farke’s future in LS11, and the club as a whole will now suffer from too much hesitation with decisions.
It seems like Farke may only be relaying the feeling he’s getting from the board surrounding their backing and what has or hasn’t been promised.
