Daniel Farke finally comes to senses, Leeds United have something relegation rivals don’t
Daniel Farke has secured his future at Leeds United by beating Chelsea 3-1 in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Enzo Maresca’s team lost at Elland Road on 3 December, with the Whites securing three important points to move out of the relegation zone.
Leeds are still looking for Farke’s replacement despite the win over the Blues, but his situation is arguably much better than it was after losing 3-2 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on 29 November.
The German showed much-needed initiative against Chelsea, which could potentially be the blueprint to his survival, and by extension, the West Yorkshire outfit’s success.

Daniel Farke may have found perfect formula at Leeds United
Farke saw something in his Leeds players as they almost fought back against Man City, and he was subsequently rewarded for those changes.
The German manager opted for a 3-5-2 formation as the Whites beat Chelsea at Elland Road.
It seems like the former Norwich City boss has finally come to his senses and opted to solidify the defence, even if it means moving away from his preferred formation at the West Yorkshire outfit.
Speaking after the game against the Blues on whether Leeds could stick with the new system, Farke said: “Yes, of course it can be. My football is never married with base formations. I’m addicted to principles.”
Jaka Bijol was immense against Chelsea, and it would make sense to continue playing him alongside Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon in a back three.
Hopefully, the Peacocks will be able to pick up enough points in the coming weeks to stay afloat and then reinforce the squad in January.
Daniel Farke has duo that can help survive Premier League relegation
Willy Gnonto and Dan James may now have a long way to go at Elland Road to get regular minutes under Farke’s new system, with Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson out on the wings.
The partnership of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha may be precisely what Leeds need, and speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Conor Coady said: “What I always look at with teams down there [at the bottom of the table] is the firepower that they have up top. Those two they have, Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha, are a handful.
“You compare them to the other teams, West Ham have Callum Wilson, but you look at Wolves, Burnley, do they score many goals? Those two up top will score goals [for Leeds]. They are going to be a massive part in how Leeds do this season.”
The former Everton striker has finally found his shooting boots in LS11, and it looks like the Germany international presence gets the best out of him, making them the perfect pairing to help the West Yorkshire outfit avoid relegation this season.
