Daniel Farke can’t start Anton Stach vs Nottingham Forest after new Leeds admission
Daniel Farke may have no choice when it comes to Anton Stach’s involvement in Leeds’ clash with Nottingham Forest after a new admission from the German midfielder.
Stach has been brilliant for Leeds, but he has found himself on the bench for the Whites’ last two matches.
Stach played 30 minutes in Leeds’ 3-0 loss to Brighton and previously stayed on the bench for the 2-1 win over West Ham.
Farke may have to keep the 22-year-old out of his team after what he has said in an interview in his homeland.

Why Daniel Farke cannot start Anton Stach in Nottingham Forest vs Leeds
Leeds are fighting against Premier League relegation, and they need all of their players on the pitch to be fully focused on the task at hand.
It seems like Stach is scared after his latest comments about the physicality of the division, as he says he held back and mentions elbows at the end.
Speaking to German outlet Kicker on 2 November, he said: “After breaking my little finger, I also broke a rib against Tottenham. I initially tried to keep playing.
“But you definitely feel an injury like that, for me, it was mostly a mental thing, because I automatically held back in challenges. The coaching staff still wanted me on the bench to support the team.
“The break did me good, and I got better day by day. Now I need a few training sessions to get used to the intensity again, especially in midfield, you have a lot of challenges, and elbows can come in quickly.”

Therefore, he cannot be named as a starter when the Whites travel to the City Ground on 9 November in an easy decision for the manager.

Stach may face a battle to win his place back at Leeds anyway
Ao Tanaka was the main beneficiary of Stach’s injury, as he came back into the side, and has impressed in the last two matches.
The Japanese midfielder was immense against the Hammers, and he was not the issue in the defeat to the Seagulls.
- Leeds have never lost at Elland Road when Tanaka has started
 - Tanaka has featured eight times in the top-flight this season
 - Stach has played nine times, with one goal and one assist in his maiden season in England

Stach may face an uphill battle to win his place back, especially if the 27-year-old keeps performing in the centre of the park.
His new admission will not help his case, as Farke wants players who show fight and bravery, rather than shirking from challenges and not being willing to go through the pain barrier.
