Daniel Farke bewildering experiments could get him sacked at Leeds United after Fulham defeat
Daniel Farke’s decision-making at Leeds has often been questionable.
The mood at Leeds is very strange right now; four points from four games isn’t a bad return, yet everything away from the pitch has cast a shadow of concern over the Whites.
Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Fulham was a harsh one, but that is the nature of the Premier League, especially for a newly-promoted team.
There will be some slack cut for incidents like that involving Gabriel Gudmundsson, though the same cannot be said for Farke, who made a howler of a decision before a ball was even kicked.

Brenden Aaronson played… on the wing?
Even in the Championship, Farke was questioned for his team selections, including those who came off the bench.
And while concerns have often been raised over that, the German has kept making the same mistakes, just like he did against Fulham.
Brenden Aaronson, a number 10 who often doesn’t even thrive there, was forced out wide for Leeds, while Willy Gnonto and Dan James were forced to watch from the bench.
Aaronson’s record over last two campaigns
- 52 appearances (5 Premier League)
- 9 goals
- 2 assists
Leeds have lacked goalscoring credentials this season, and for Farke to think playing Aaronson on the wing would remedy that is absurd.
It isn’t the first time Farke has experimented with playing players wildly out of position, despite a natural option being in front of his eyes.
That simply needs to stop; otherwise, Farke will be counting down the days until he is relieved of his duties at Elland Road.

What is going on with Willy Gnonto at Leeds?
There is an argument to be made that Gnonto is the most technically gifted player that Leeds have in their squad, and yet he is often the first to be sacrificed when Farke makes a change to his team.
It was the same last season, despite the Italian impressing whenever he was given a fair shot in the team.
James is not cut out for the Premier League, and nor is Jack Harrison, and yet they are still favoured over the youngster who must be left wondering what has gone wrong.
Farke’s treatment of Gnonto over the last 12 months has been bizarre, and sooner or later, he will realise that he has the keys to unlocking what Leeds are currently lacking.
