Rene Maric reacts as Daniel Farke closes in on Leeds United manager appointment
Former Leeds United assistant manager Rene Maric has reacted on Twitter to the news that Daniel Farke is now the leading candidate for the vacant managerial role at Elland Road.
The Austrian coach took to his official Twitter page to react to the news on Saturday afternoon (24 June).
Farke emerged as the leading candidate in the ongoing manager hunt at Leeds on Friday afternoon as The Daily Mail reported (23 June) that officials at the club had opened talks over personal terms with the 46-year-old manager.

Farke now looks set to beat out Patrick Vieira and Scott Parker who were both on a shortlist with the former Norwich boss and Maric views it as a positive appointment.
“Great character, class coach for a class club. Hope they will go straight up, really wish them well (if it happens),” Maric responded when asked for his view by a fan on Twitter (24 June).
Agreed
It is hard to disagree with the former Leeds United coach.
The managerial hunt at Elland Road has been a topsy-turvy one with twists and surprises along the way, however, it seems as if it could finally be coming to an end and fans might finally get their answer.
The decision to appoint Farke, if it happens, is a smart one. The German coach has twice won the Championship with Norwich City and that is all this season is about for the Whites. Instant promotion.

It doesn’t need to be pretty, promotion never does, they just need to get back to the Premier League, where the club belong. Farke did not enjoy a positive time in England’s top flight and this appointment shows the club are just thinking about the now.
Although it could be argued Vieira has more Premier League pedigree, the Championship is a different beast.
A best which Farke certainly knows his way around.
