Charlie Cresswell gives Daniel Farke food for thought after what Leeds United man did for England Under-21s

Leeds United have plenty of players away on international duty during the current break, both to the delight and angst of Daniel Farke.

One of which is defender Charlie Cresswell, who is currently representing England Under-21s in European qualification.

The young side began the current break in spectacular fashion, thrashing Serbia 9-1 in Nottingham on Thursday (12 October).

And playing a major role in that stunning win was Whites youngster Cresswell, who was handed the entire 90 minutes by manager Lee Carsley.

Much of the action was, of course, at the other end of the pitch, but the Leeds man still needed to be fully focused in order to keep the away side out as much as he possibly could.

The defender will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet, but at the same time he will be over the moon to have played the entire match at the City Ground.

Daniel Farke

Cresswell hasn’t been handed too many minutes by his club manager this season, but his display on the international stage won’t be overlooked, with the youngster definitely giving Farke food for thought for the months to come.

In the player’s favour is the fact that fellow centre-backs Liam Cooper and Joe Rodon did not feature for Scotland and Wales respectively in their games against Spain and Gibraltar respectively. Pascal Struijk meanwhile is not on the international scene with the Netherlands this time around.

More minutes for the Young Lions for Cresswell will do him the world of good, and may just result in more minutes for the Whites as the Championship campaign progresses.

In other Leeds United news, a team effort is helping the Whites in their Championship promotion push this season.
