Charlie Cresswell decision made amid Daniel Farke press conference update – Predicted Leeds United XI v Plymouth Argyle

Daniel Farke is going to be forced into change with his Leeds United starting lineup when they take on Plymouth at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Whites host Argyle in the final game before the international break, but will be without up to seven players for the game after Farke confirmed some injury issues at the club.

And those absences may see some changes to the side that starts the game, as the team look to keep the momentum going following their 1-0 win over Leicester last time out.

Illan Meslier made a stunning save in the dying moments of that game and Farke labelled him as the best goalkeeper in the division, so he will no doubt start the game.

In defence Djed Spece is still recovering from injury after suffering a minor setback, but Luke Ayling is still likely to find himself behind Archie Gray at right-back for this game.

Joe Rodon will continue in the centre of defence, but his partner for this game will be different as Pascal Struijk underwent surgery and will be missing. That leaves a space open for either Liam Cooper or Charlie Cresswell to step in, but with the youngster missing training this week the captain should get the nod.

Junior Firpo is fit again but seems unlikely to come back into the side after so long out, so Sam Byram should keep his place at left-back with Jamie Shackleton also out injured.

In midfield Ethan Ampadu and Glen Kamara have forged a top quality partnership that has a bit of everything, and that should be enough to keep Ilia Gruev on the sidelines once more.

In attack Crysencio Summerville has been the main man for much of the campaign but he could see his role changed slightly, with Wilfried Gnonto fully fit once again and knocking on the door for a start.

With Gnonto coming in on the left-wing, that should see Summerville move over to the right which means in-form Dan James dropping to the bench with Joel Piroe starting behind Georginio Rutter to complete the team.
