Callum Wilson announcement made amid intense Leeds United transfer talk
Callum Wilson has been consistently linked with Leeds United throughout the transfer window.
The striker looks set to leave Newcastle United this summer when his contract expires after five years at the Magpies.
Leeds have been chasing Wilson since their promotion back to the Premier League was confirmed, as they look to increase their firepower.
Now, the striker is set to decide his future after his existing contract at St James’ Park came to an end.

Wilson set for pundit role at Club World Cup
While Leeds United may want to sign Wilson, it does not seem like he will be available anytime soon.
As announced by DAZN on Thursday (12 June), the striker will be part of the broadcaster’s line-up for their coverage of the Club World Cup.
The tournament is set to start on 14 June and will last until 13 July.
Wilson will be part of the broadcaster’s “talent” team alongside former stars John Obi Mikel and Claude Makélélé.

However, this development is a massive embarrassment for Daniel Farke and the Yorkshire club.
Leeds have been chasing Wilson for some time and emerged as frontrunners for his signature.
Now, it has become clear that the Peacocks have been taken for a ride by the striker, and all their scouting is for nothing.
Even if Wilson still has ambitions to play football this season, his lack of availability in pre-season now makes him a non-option, assuming he is out in America for the duration.

Leeds must solve their attacking conundrum quickly
With the transfer window set to open on Monday (17 June), it is still unknown who will be leading Leeds’ attack at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
Joel Piroe is on the back of a fantastic season at Elland Road, but it is unknown if he can make the step up into the Premier League.
Manor Solomon is still at Tottenham despite Leeds’ interest in signing the attacker permanently.
Patrick Bamford is also clearly not good enough for the Premier League after an awful campaign.
While Leeds have been linked with Beto, no move for the striker has been made yet.
Farke needs to sort this issue out quickly, or he will face the consequences of being unprepared for the start of the new season.
