‘Buzzing’, ‘Huge boost’ – Many Leeds fans blown away by ‘jackpot’ loan exit

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to hail Jordan Stevens’ loan move to Swindon Town.

The Whites confirmed the news via their official website on Monday.

The 20-year-old winger has joined the League One outfit on a season-long deal, and could make his debut as soon as Saturday, when his new side come up against Burton Albion.

On the face of it, this feels like a smart move for all parties.

From Stevens’ point of view, he was always going to struggle for regular game time in the Premier League this season, but should get plenty of minutes in the third tier.

Leeds are allowing one of their brightest young talents to go out and develop, while Swindon are getting a player who has already drawn praise from Noel Whelan.

Evidently, Marcelo Bielsa believes that he has a future with the first team too.

Stevens has already made six senior appearances for the Whites, and the Argentine seems to be leaning more heavily towards sending out his best prospects on loan this term.

We’ve already seen the likes of Ryan Edmondson head to Aberdeen, and the hope will be that a similar move for Stevens can be the step he needs to take to unlock the next step in his development as a player.

After all, a spell with Swindon didn’t do James Milner any harm…
