Anton Stach transfer to Leeds United pays off as Julian Nagelsmann must take notice
Anton Stach has given Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann a lot ot think about after his impressive performances for Leeds United.
Daniel Farke secured a draw against Liverpool on 6 December in the Premier League, with the former Hoffenheim midfielder scoring in the 3-3 draw.
Stach moved to Ellan Road for around £17.4million, and he’s certainly been worth the investment for the Whites this season.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, the 27-year-old seems to have caught the attention of the world at the perfect time.

Leeds United transfer right call for Anton Stach
Stach was attracted by the prospect of joining Leeds in the summer as he thought it could boost his chances of making it to the German national team’s squad.
With the midfielder now thriving at Elland Road, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see him play for Die Mannschaft sooner rather than later.
The ex-Hoffenheim star already has two caps for Germany’s senior team, but hasn’t played for them since June 2022.
Nagelsmann will certainly have taken notice of Stach’s displays in LS11 of late, and it would make sense for his three-year exile from the national squad to end.
Farke will surely continue to rely on the midfielder for the rest of the season, and it remains to be seen whether he can change the former Bayern Munich manager’s mind.
Who is Anton Stach competing with for Germany spot?
Tennis legend Boris Becker wants Nagelsmann to look at Stach after his heroic performance against Liverpool.
The Leeds midfielder is competing with the likes of Mainz’s Nadiem Amiri, Bayer Leverkusen’s Robert Andrich and VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller.
Bayern Munich’s Aleksandar Pavlovic and Leon Goretzka have recently been the German manager’s preferred options in the double pivot, and it looks like they will certainly be on their way to Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Only time will tell whether Stach has done enough to convince Nagelsmann that he can contribute to the team at the World Cup.
