‘Anton Stach next’ as Leeds United announce new signing
Anton Stach has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United this summer.
Daniel Farke will be pleased with Leeds’ business so far this summer, though he will also be well aware that there is still a lot of work to be done.
So far, it seems as though the strategy has been to improve the overall quality of the squad, without adding any new marquee arrivals, aside from Jaka Bijol.
However, Leeds today announced their fourth signing of the summer window, and it may not be long until number five is through the door.

Leeds finalise Gabriel Gudmundsson deal
It was heavily rumoured to be happening, but Leeds have today officially announced the signing of Gabriel Gudmundsson, who joins on a permanent deal from Lille, as confirmed via club channels (8 July).
The Swedish international is a direct replacement for Junior Firpo, who left at the end of his contract at Elland Road. Attention will now turn to midfield and attacking arrivals for the Whites, amid links to German powerhouse Stach.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
TSG Hoffenheim | 71 | 4 | 6 |
1.FSV Mainz 05 | 68 | 2 | 13 |
Greuther Fürth | 33 | 1 | 1 |
The 26-year-old Hoffenheim midfielder looks to be on the move this summer, and he is the exact type of profile that Leeds are missing in their midfield.
While Sean Longstaff has been linked, the Whites simply have to prioritise the signing of Stach before pursuing other targets.

Farke still awaiting attacking reinforcements
At the start of the window, it felt fairly apparent that a new striker and goalkeeper would be the priority for Leeds, who have instead focused on bolstering their defence ahead of the Premier League campaign.
However, with that now achieved, attentions have to turn to the other areas of the squad, which will play just as crucial a role in deciding the success that they can find next season.
