Anton Stach in Leeds United transfer twist as investigations underway

Anton Stach has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United this summer.

Daniel Farke will have been frustrated at the lack of transfer movement at Leeds earlier on in the window, though things have accelerated over the last few days.

Sean Longstaff looks set to join, while deals for Igor Paixão and Stach remain in the balance.

However, the latest update on the latter could spark the 49ers into immediate action, knowing that it could be costly if they don’t.

Beşiktaş enter the race for Stach

Stach would arguably be the first statement signing for Leeds, having already missed out on several to Sunderland, who will likely be one of their relegation rivals this season.

Talks for the German midfielder had been progressing nicely, but a report from A Spor via X (17 July) now states that Beşiktaş have identified Stach as a midfield target, with “cost investigations” ongoing.

After what has been somewhat of a saga around his future at Hoffenheim, Leeds will not want to end their pursuit in defeat.

The 49ers simply have to accelerate their plans to bring him to Elland Road, or face the possibility of being left with egg on their face yet again, with a month until the new Premier League campaign gets underway.

Leeds are at risk of losing another summer target

If Leeds are to stay in the Premier League, their recruitment this summer simply has to be flawless, and it hasn’t been as of yet.

The Whites have struggled to get deals over the line on several occasions, and face the risk of repeating that again with Stach.

There will still be hope that this deal can go through, though much of it will hinge on how fast they act after Beşiktaş have registered an interest, given their ability to offer more than what Leeds can.
