Angus Kinnear must learn to keep mouth shut after Leeds United manager hunt embarrassment

Leeds United are set to go into another Premier League game with no permanent manager in charge against Everton on Saturday 18 February.

Michael Skubala has overseen two games against Manchester United and will now take charge at Goodison Park and against Southampton next time out.

Leeds are taking a real gamble in two huge games which could decide their Premier League status, with Andrea Radrizzani and Angus Kinnear spouting their usual nonsense.

Going into the last game with Manchester United at Elland Road, a lot of eyes were drawn to the programme notes from Kinnear, who could not help himself.

Describing the manager hunt as “advanced“, the Leeds chief was likely referring to Alfred Schreuder, who was at the game to watch on ahead of potentially taking over.

That didn’t last long though, as the ex-Ajax coach was out of contention the day after and on his way back to Holland on the next flight after fans bit back.

Jumping the gun.

This isn’t the first time someone in the boardroom has opened their mouth without thinking.

Radrizzani could not be kept off Twitter during the first week of the manager hunt, predicting white smoke and then seemingly going into radio silence after being embarrassed.

What is going on behind the scenes at this club? Becuase right now, it’s a joke.

Leeds United are quickly becoming a laughing stock, and if they don’t pick up wins soon against Everton and Southampton, they will quickly become odds-on for relegation and who would disagree with that?

Kinnear and Radrizzani need to keep their mouths shut and actually get down to business in finding the next man in charge of this wonderful club.

It is alright waiting for the summer to appoint the likes of Andoni Iraola or Arne Slot, but we need someone now, with our Premier League status far from secured.

Time for talking is done, get on with it.
