49ers try to deflect Leeds summer failures on Daniel Farke, but blame lies with them
The 49ers have highlighted Daniel Farke’s preferences for summer signings during crunch talks over the German’s future at Leeds.
On Monday, it was revealed that Farke could be sacked if Leeds lose their next two games in the Premier League.
Leeds lost 3-2 to Manchester City on Saturday and have remained in the relegation zone, with the Whites now fearing the worst.
Leeds are desperate for points, and while Farke can do better, the 49ers appear to be throwing him under the bus despite prior agreements.
49ers betray Daniel Farke with U-turn stance on summer signings
Leeds spent over £100m on new additions this summer to give Farke the best possible chance of keeping the Whites in the top flight.
In June, the Yorkshire Evening Post revealed that transfer chiefs identified physicality as the key area to target in the market to strengthen Farke’s side.
Now, recent reports have suggested that the 49ers haven’t been convinced by new signings and that it’s all down to Farke, apparently.
- Leeds signed 6,4″ Jaka Bijol for £15m
- The Whites also spent £13m on Noah Okafor in a deal that could rise to £18m with add-ons
- The 49ers also sanctioned the signing of 6,2″ Dominic Calvert-Lewin
According to The Guardian, internal figures have raised questions over Farke’s “favoured” preference of bringing in physical players over more technically gifted stars.
In an act of complete hypocrisy and betrayal, the 49ers have done a U-turn on Farke in a matter of months.

Paraag Marathe and Co. will be in constant communication with transfer chiefs, and there’s simply no way that they weren’t also in agreement with Farke’s taste in signings.

49ers have shown their true colours
All signs are pointing towards Farke’s LS11 exit now, and the 49ers are already clustering up ways of deflecting the problems onto the man they know they will fire.
Unless the German head coach can provide a miracle in the upcoming games against Chelsea and Liverpool, he will be axed.
It would be interesting, however, if Farke pulled results out of the bag, forcing the 49ers to back him going into the January transfer window.
They could end up digging an even deeper hole, given what has already been revealed about their ridiculous thoughts on signings that were approved by themselves.
It’s worrying to be a Leeds fan right now, but make no mistake about it, the 49ers are trying to bluff everyone.
