49ers takeover announcement could be shared at Leeds United within hours

Leeds United have been caught up in an ownership wrangle from the very moment their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed last week.

The 49ers Enterprises still want to take full control from Andrea Radrizzani, but at a lesser price than was originally agreed in the top flight, around £500million in total.

The Telegraph reported on 2 June that there was hope that an announcement would be made by the 49ers after the weekend just past, with fingers crossed.

Now, that may mean that a takeover announcement could be only hours away now at Elland Road.

Radrizzani has kicked on with his own takeover of Italian side Sampdoria in the week that has passed, with that agreement now in place and basically finalised already.

Of course, with more things to iron out in West Yorkshire, it was never going to be as easy as that, although there will be hope that progress has been made.

Phil Hay has already reported that the 49ers want to take control of the club still, but are only ready to pay £170million and they want Radrizzani fully out of the door.

Ask any Leeds fan, and 99.99% of them will now want Radrizzani out of the club.

He has ruined his legacy of returning the Whites back to the Premier League, and trying to offer Elland Road as collateral for his takeover of Sampdoria was the final straw.

Angus Kinnear appears to have been holding the club afloat while all of this is going on, with a new manager needed as well as a transfer window set to begin with many exits and incomings expected.

The 49ers will hopefully make an announcement within hours as was expected, whether that it is done, or at least some clarity that it will be done.

All eyes are on Elland Road.
