49ers take a bow as Leeds’ Anton Stach outranks every other Premier League summer signing

Anton Stach’s move to Leeds United has been a resounding success for everyone involved so far.

The German midfielder has proven to be one of Daniel Farke’s key players as the Whites look set for Premier League survival.

As it stands, the Elland Road club are six points off the relegation zone, and the performances of Farke and Stach have been a major contribution to that.

The 49ers’ ability to get a player of his quality over the line in the previous summer window has to be applauded.

Stach has subsequently turned out to be a bargain, and there is a case to be made that he was the best piece of business across the whole Premier League. Especially after this latest reveal.

Why Anton Stach could be considered signing of the summer

The 49ers may have pulled off the signing of the summer, as the latest rankings have Stach at the top of the list of summer signings.

Compared against all of the summer Premier League arrivals, Leeds’ German midfielder has been performing better than the likes of fellow national Florian Wirtz, who does not even make the list.

The rankings, determined by WhoScored, have Stach above Joao Pedro in second and Granit Xhaka in third.

However, it is not the only source showing that the 27-year-old has been playing to a high level, as according to Sofascore, Stach is the highest-rated player for Leeds United this season at 7.14.

He comes in above Ethan Ampadu (7.05) and James Justin (6.87).

Leeds have no plans to offer Stach new deal – here’s why it’s a mistake

As it stands, Leeds are not looking to tie Stach down to an improved contract, but in doing so, they risk the player being subject to plenty of interest.

The German has been proving himself as a top-level Premier League midfielder, and that is shown by the graphic below.

Over the last 10 games, Stach has barely put in a poor performance.

Keeping the player happy and providing him with a bigger wage could see him stick it out in LS11, pushing him away from seeking a transfer out of Leeds.

His current contract may last for another three years, but there is no harm in rewarding one of your most important players for their hard work.
