49ers risk double Leeds United punishment as Daniel Farke’s future comes clear

The 49ers Enterprises may single-handedly get Leeds relegated this season.

At the very start of the campaign, the goal for Leeds was to avoid relegation.

With 11 points from 11 games, the Whites are picking up an average of one point per game, which is typically enough to see a side stay in the Premier League.

However, that average is likely to drop significantly over the coming weeks, with Leeds set for a difficult run of fixtures against several of the teams currently occupying the top six.

Not only will that increase Leeds’ chances of relegation, but it will also have some other unwanted side effects.

Lack of clarity over Daniel Farke will put off winter targets.

As of right now, it seems as though Daniel Farke is under no threat of losing his job at Leeds.

If that is the case now, after defeats to several of the teams expected to be around them come the end of the campaign, it’s hard to see that changing after defeats to sides chasing European football.

Leeds’ next four fixtures

With that in mind, it sets a dangerous precedent heading into the January transfer window, with Leeds almost certainly set to be a part of the bottom three in the Premier League, while being led by a manager who is walking on the very edge of thin ice.

Those two things combined are not an attractive look for transfer targets, who will not even need a moment to think about their decision before turning any potential approaches down from the Whites.

An inability to strengthen where necessary in January would be a punishment in itself, and that would almost guarantee relegation at the end of the season.

This is the perfect time to part ways with Daniel Farke

Things are not going to improve under Farke; that much is clear.

With the international break upon us and Leeds not in action for another 11 days, a new manager would have a short amount of time to work with his players, without the immediate pressure of needing results.

Added to that, while points are going to be important, the run until the new year is somewhat of a free hit for a new boss, given the level of opposition they are set to face.

Not only would it rejuvenate the Elland Road support, but it would also show a level of ambition from the 49ers that is yet to be seen.
