49ers ready double Leeds United statement transfer after new announcement

Leeds United are going into their first Championship game of the season on Sunday 06 August with some glaring holes in their first-team squad.

Daniel Farke has publically shared his desire for new transfers throughout his squad with defence, midfield and attack all mentioned in his last press conference.

Well, following the announcement of the squad numbers for the new season today [05 August], it looks as though the 49ers have two spots ready for a double-statement transfer.

It has been glaringly noticed that the number seven and eight shirts are not filled yet, with midfield an area which is screaming for reinforcements.

Creativity is desperately needed, especially when you look at how important Pablo Hernandez was in that role the last time we were promoted to the Premier League.

Ethan Ampadu, Tyler Adams (if he stays), Darko Gyabi and Archie Gray should be enough for holding midfield, but then Leeds have no one ahead of them.

Those two shirts are crying out for a big-money duo who can make things happen and inspire Leeds back into the Premier League with their handy work.

There is one clear candidate for one of those shirts already, and that is Gustavo Hamer at Coventry.

Phil Hay reported on 6 July that Leeds wanted the playmaker, who managed over 20 goal contributions last season, as well as free agent Han-Noah Massengo from Bristol City.

Now, that could be a real treat of a double signing, especially if it came in the days following a nice home win against Cardiff on the opening day of the season at Elland Road.

The 49ers Enterprises have promised to be aggressive in this window, and everything is lining up, including the perfect shirt for both of these players to be signed.

Let’s hope it can be done as easily as that, with this certainly something to watch.

In other Leeds United news, this exit-linked star is already confirmed to be starting v Cardiff.
