49ers priority becomes clear after Leeds United and Rangers deadline day events

The 49ers Enterprises are under serious scrutiny at Elland Road this summer.

With the international break now upon us, Leeds fans have nothing to do other than sit and dwell on what has been an underwhelming summer transfer window.

Leeds United tried to bring Harry Wilson to Elland Road on deadline day, but failed, not long after an approach for Emi Buendia fell at the first hurdle.

While questions will now emerge over Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds, fingers have to be pointed at those above him, especially after developments elsewhere.

Rangers secure several late arrivals in sumemr transfer window

Darko Gyabi’s permanent move to Hull City was the only deal that Leeds were able to get over the line on transfer deadline day.

The same cannot be said for Rangers, who secured the multi-million pound arrival of Youssef Chermiti, as well as the loan signature of Derek Cornelius.

Just days prior, Russell Martin also had his attack bolstered with the signing of Bojan Miovski from Girona, which was certainly needed after such a poor start to the season, though the same was said about Leeds.

Since returning to the Premier League, Lukas Nmecha has scored Leeds’ only goal of the season, which led to Farke requesting more attacking reinforcements.

Those demands fell on deaf ears, with the arrival of James Justin from Leicester on 25 August, the last piece of business conducted by the 49ers at Elland Road.

Rangers is a new project for the American ownership, and they will want to get off to a good start in Glasgow, but it seems they have completely neglected the needs of Leeds United by doing so.

Where are Leeds’ goals going to come from?

Despite it being a priority, Leeds now face the start of the season without any reliable source of goals.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored three last season, Nmecha scored five, and Noah Okafor scored one, and yet Farke is supposed to turn these players into goalscorers in the hardest league in the world.

The German did well last season, but he is far from the miracle worker that is seemingly needed to keep Leeds in with a chance of survival.

Farke already expressed his concerns over Leeds’ survival hopes, and one can only imagine how he feels about them now.
