49ers must do all they can to extend Lukas Nmecha as Daniel Farke feelings clear
Lukas Nmecha has surely already earned a contract extension at Leeds United.
Nmecha joined Leeds on a free transfer in the summer, after his contract with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg expired.
He has already hit the ground running at Elland Road, with six goals in 21 Premier League appearances, making a huge impression on supporters.
The 49ers Enterprises group cannot let him leave on a free transfer, they must do all they can to get the German to sign fresh terms.

What is Nmecha’s current Leeds situation?
Nmecha signed a two-year contract when he joined the Whites, which began on 1 July 2025.
It is scheduled to expire on 30 June 2027, if he does not sign a new deal to remain in LS11 for even longer.
So far, there has been no talk over a potential extension, but it is something that needs to be addressed, as the club’s negotiating position will be weaker if they allow his current deal to run down.
What does Daniel Farke think about Nmecha?
Daniel Farke has made his feelings clear on Nmecha already, he really rates the 27-year-old and believes that he is one of the best strikers that he has worked with in his management career.
Speaking in January after the 1-0 win over Fulham, he said: “He proved me right and showed all his quality as a finisher.
“For me, he’s one of the best German strikers, and he proved it with that crucial goal that earned us the three points.”
Therefore, the manager would clearly like him to stay in Yorkshire beyond his current expiry date, as long as he maintains his current form.
How does Nmecha feel about Leeds?
The seven-time German international has already formed a relationship with the Peacocks supporters, and has been blown away by the level of support.
Speaking after the penalty shootout win over Birmingham in the FA Cup, he said: “The fans were buzzing today.
“It was really loud, even at the team talk at the end, we could hear them in the changing room.
“It is just a good day, really tough but really important.”
That implies that he is happy with his situation and would surely agree if a new contract is put on the table.
The ownership needs to get it sorted, make Nmecha understand how important he is to the side, and sign him to fresh terms before clubs come out of the woodwork to sign him.
Farke and the fans obviously want him to stay, so they have to offer him an extension and keep him in Yorkshire for the foreseeable future, not allowing him to move on.
