49ers Enterprises may not have received a clearer message to keep Archie Gray at Leeds United after the reaction of his teammates following their win over Middlesbrough.
The Whites ran out 3-2 winners at Elland Road on Saturday (2 December) thanks to first-half goals from Dan James, Summerville and Joel Piroe to ensure that the Whites remain third in the Championship table.
Elland Road sensation Gray started the match right-back once again for Daniel Farke and impressed as he played the full 90 minutes against their promotion rivals, a display which left one of his teammates stunned after the game.

Summerville sent an immediate to reply to Gray’s Instagram post from the game against Middlesbrough (3 December) commenting only: “The best”.

Joe Rodon also gave glowing praise of the youngster dubbing him a “star boy”.

Such reactions from his teammates cannot be a much clearer message to the Leeds United owners 49ers Enterprises and Farke that the club must keep the incredibly gifted youngster at all costs after several transfer rumours in recent months.
News publication Daily Mail, reporting on 10 November, shared that Liverpool are lining up a big-money move for the Leeds teenager just three months are making his senior debut for the club.
The 17-year-old could cost the Reds at least £40million, as Leeds would be reluctant to let one of their star academy products leave the club in the near future.

Newspaper journalist Alan Nixon, taking to his Patreon page on 25 September reported that Crystal Palace plan to be at the front of the queue if Leeds are forced to cash in on their prized academy asset while Everton are also interested in the Elland Road gem.
The interest in the young midfielder is of no surprise given the remarkable start to his career in West Yorkshire and the fact that he’s already a key figure in Farke’s rejuvenated squad, despite his tender age.
However, the Whites will only have themselves to blame should Gray be tempted by a Premier League move or they are forced to sell their prized asset as they are continuously stalling on his new contract at the club.

Suggestions have been made that they are already happy to extend his stay having only signed a new deal in Yorkshire in March [Phil Hay, 9 August] but given the increasing interest, it’s a surprise the Whites haven’t moved mountains to secure his future even further.
Maybe the club’s owners need a kick up the backside from Gray’s teammates to ensure they seal his future at Elland Road. If they need any sort of justification, they only need to take a glance at his Instagram account.
