49ers can seal Josh Brownhill transfer at Leeds United after new developments over ‘huge offer’

Leeds failed with moves for Harry Wilson and Emi Buendia, ensuring the pressure the 49ers are under from the fanbase is unlike anything they’ve ever experienced before.
One way the 49ers could lessen the blow would be to delve into the free agent market to bolster Daniel Farke’s squad, with Josh Brownhill a potential option for the Whites.

Brownhill, 29, was linked with a move to Leeds earlier in the summer, but those rumours quickly died down.
However, following injuries to Ao Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu already, another midfield option would be a welcome addition to Farke’s engine room.
- If Leeds signed Brownhill, Farke could deploy Anton Stach at the base of his midfield
- This would allow Brownhill and Sean Longstaff to operate as the two number eights
- This change would see Ilia Gruev taken out of the team, who is evidently not a Premier League player
The former Burnley captain scored a remarkable 18 goals from midfield last season in the Championship as the Clarets won automatic promotion alongside Leeds to the Premier League.
However, Sky Sports shared on 31 August that Wolves were in talks to sign the midfielder, who is also said to be considering a “huge offer” from Al Shabab.
If the 49ers do not want to miss out on another player like they have done on so many occasions over the course of the summer, then they must ready an enticing deal to win the race for his signature.
Josh Brownhill addition would not bail out the 49ers
Without a doubt, Brownhill would be a quality addition for Leeds, but that would not immediately remove the criticism the 49ers are correctly receiving at the moment.
It’s a topic that’s been regularly discussed and rightly so, but the forward line is still miles away from where it should be for a side attempting to avoid the drop.
Given how shrewd some of their business has been in the past, the fact that the 49ers are chancing United staying up with the obvious holes still there in Farke’s squad is mind-boggling.
