Yet another Patrick Bamford injury issue at Leeds United as footage emerges from Spain
Patrick Bamford has suffered another injury setback for Leeds United as Jesse Marsch’s squad start training in Oliva, according to Graham Smyth.
The England international missed the Whites’ first session in the sun due to a minor groin procedure and joined Stuart Dallas and Luis Sinisterra in training away from the first-team squad.
As well as Bamford, Junior Firpo was absent from the session as he is to fly out later in the week while goalkeeping duo Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson are suffering from a viral illness.
“Leeds United’s training camp in Oliva begins. No Bamford (minor groin procedure), Firpo (knock, flying out this week), Meslier and Klaesson (viral illness),” Smyth said via his personal Twitter account.
“Sinisterra, Dallas here as they work on injury rehabilitation.”

If there can be any positives to be taken from this news, at least the setback has happened during the mid-season break and not on the eve of the Premier League’s return.
Having said that, nobody can guarantee that Bamford’s injury woes won’t continue and ergo affect the resumption of competitive football after Christmas.
After being the golden man in Leeds’ first season back in the top flight under Marcelo Bielsa, he has since dropped to being a liability at Elland Road with so many injuries piling on top of each other.
Marsch has hardly seen the man play football since he arrived at Thorp Arch in February so he won’t be in any rush to get him fit again, especially while Rodrigo is in top form up front.
Unless he miraculously finds a way to stay fit and in form when the season restarts following the conclusion of the World Cup, Bamford’s future as a Leeds United player could be very limited.
In other Leeds United news, Charles De Ketelaere’s saga with the Yorkshire club may not be over yet if the word from this journalist comes to be true.
