YEP journalist: Leeds midfielder has future in punditry or commentary if he wants it
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth has backed Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw to have a future in punditry.
Forshaw, 28, has spent most of the season sidelined with a hip injury, which was operated on last month when the midfielder visited a specialist in the States.
He has since spoken to the Yorkshire Evening Post about his troubles and how he suffered setback after setback before the decision was eventually made for him to have surgery.
After interviewing Forshaw, Smyth was so impressed by the discussion he had with the Leeds player that he backed him to use his way with words as a pundit or commentator down the line.
“Speaks well. A future in punditry or commentary awaits if he fancies it. He’s been through the ringer and it’s terrific to hear him so positive about the future. Leeds have missed him, fingers crossed he’s back on or before schedule,” said Smyth via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.
Forshaw’s interview is definitely worth a read if you haven’t already and, as Smyth points out, he does talk very well through things that need some assessing.
A lot of players aim to get into punditry once they hang up their boots and while Forshaw is perhaps several years away from that point, it might be something for him to think about.
Leeds fans would agree when we say that Sky Sports have some questionable pundits on their shows and Forshaw would definitely be a good man to have on the television for future Leeds fixtures or to use as an EFL expert.
