'Wow' - Robbie Savage takes swipe at Leeds & makes relegation claim, Emma Jones hits back

LUTV host Emma Jones has hit back at Robbie Savage after the former Leicester player suggested Leeds United cannot defend and might get relegated.

Leeds lost 4-1 at the hands of Leicester on Monday night, a result that many fans were prepared for based on the strength of both sides.

Marcelo Bielsa was without key players for the clash with the Foxes, who were Premier League champions not too long ago and spent most of last season in the top-four.

Savage has mocked popular LUTV host Jones for Leeds’ poor display against Leicester and questioned whether Bielsa can lead the Yorkshire club to safety after their heavy defeat.

“What’s that? What’s that? What’s that? What’s that? One, two, three, four… four goals conceded once again from Leeds. Wow,” said Savage in a video clip on William Hill’s Twitter account.

“Rodgers has gone to Elland Road and outclassed Bielsa.

“Bielsa, what is happening? Can you defend? Are you going to stay up Leeds?”

Jones replied: “Are you done, mate? I think 12th at this stage of the season, from a newly-promoted side, is alright. Should we quieten down now?”

She later posted via her personal Twitter account: “Took Robbie Savage less than 10 seconds to mention Leeds.”

Savage is a bit childish, isn’t he?

You wouldn’t think he turned 46-years-old last month.

Why do pundits get such a high off mocking Leeds? We’ve seen it with Gabriel Agbonlahor and Savage this season.

Do they realise they make themselves look silly if anything?

Savage, who played for Derby as they were relegated from the Premier League with 11 points in 2007/08, knows a thing or two about suffering the drop from the top-flight so we are willing to listen to him when he talks about who might go down this season.

But not when he’s basing that off one result.

Leeds have been the better team in almost all of their matches so far this season.

Leicester are just a very good side and we’re sure Monday night’s performance won’t be repeated too many times this term.

In other Leeds United news, this Sky Sports pundit has predicted Leeds’ clash against Crystal Palace.
