‘Wow’, ‘Only waited all my life’, ‘Announce Messi’ – Many Leeds fans thrilled by announcement
Leeds United fans are delighted to see that the club has finally confirmed that Adidas will manufacture their shirts from next season onwards.
Leeds had previously announced that they are ending their association with Kappa once this season is over.
On Tuesday, the club offered a further update, confirming the news that we have been waiting to here for some time – Adidas will become the official kit partner of the Yorkshire club for the next five years.
Leeds’ managing director Angus Kinnear dubbed the agreement with the German sportswear company as a “record-breaking deal” and fans are now excited about what it means for the future.
Some are simply blown away by the news itself while a couple of others feel that the link with Adidas, and the money that comes with it, is enough to sign Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

As much as we’d like to see Messi grace Elland Road, he’s got nothing on Pablo Hernandez. Every Leeds fan knows that, right?
But in all seriousness, this is a huge deal for Leeds and one that should make the club a lot of money as they’re now a Premier League club who’ll be raking in Premier League-levels of income.
Marcelo Bielsa might not want to completely overhaul the squad and we understand why he wouldn’t do that as his consistency in the Championship played a huge role in winning promotion.
However a big signing here and there is bound to elevate his squad to a new level and this Adidas deal helps.
In other Leeds United news, Bielsa is yet to be consulted but Andrea Radrizzani wants to sign this available goal machine.
