‘Won’t be back until next season’, ‘Gutted’ – Some Leeds fans react to official player update

Marcelo Bielsa delivered yet another fitness update on long-time injured Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw on Thursday and it appears he’s still nowhere near a return.

Plenty of Leeds fans are gutted by the news and appear resigned to the fact that they’re not going to see him in action for a long time.

Forshaw’s initial injury at the start of last season seemed innocuous. He was back two games later at the end of September but only played 45 minutes against Charlton and hasn’t been seen since.

He eventually had surgery on the hip issue but despite targeting an August return, he’s been sidelined since.

In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Bielsa said, “Highs & lows but up until this point he has not been able to do any football practices.”

That seems even worse than the prognosis given a few weeks back that Forshaw would need five Under-23s games before he could feature for the first team again.

Given all of this, Leeds fans are fearing the worst, with one fan saying, “Won’t be back until next season.” That’s looking like a real possibility now.

Others think that his Leeds career might be over and one fan said he was “gutted”.

MOT Leeds News columnist Paul Robinson said earlier this year that hip injuries can be life-changing and it seems to be the case for Forshaw.

IT’s a real shame as he was in his best form when he was injured last year.

Here is a selection of reactions to the bad news…
