'Wish Bamford could finish like that' - Some Leeds fans wowed by 'on fire' U23s ace v Bolton

Leeds United fans are fed up with the lack of killer instinct being shown by the first-team at the moment but at least the Under-23s are giving them something to smile about.

Carlos Corberan’s young side won 4-1 against Bolton at Thorp Arch on Monday afternoon with striker Liam McCarron getting himself among the goals.

McCarron, 18, made the most of a one-on-one opportunity by striking the ball past the Bolton Under-23s goalkeeper with a left-footed effort in the 15th minute.

Patrick Bamford has found it difficult to score from the glut of opportunities he has had in the Championship this season and one Leeds fan has singled out McCarron as showing more finishing instinct than the first-team striker.

The Preston-born teenager already has a decent amount of first-team experience to his name after spending last season on loan at Carlisle.

Although he did not score in his 20 appearances with the League Two club, it was surely something that was beneficial to the young forward, who is now starting to impress in the Under-23s.

McCarron has been hailed as someone who is “getting better each game” for the Under-23s this season and after scoring on Monday, it’s hard to argue with that.
