Windass: Leeds United boss Bielsa will be on Levy’s lips at Tottenham

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be wanted by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, according to ex-Hull striker Dean Windass.

Spurs are on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Jose Mourinho this week.

Ryan Mason took caretaker charge for the first time on Wednesday as the North London club beat Southampton 2-1 but Leeds’ brilliant season could see Bielsa emerge on Levy’s radar.

When discussing Bielsa and Tottenham with FootballFanCast, Windass said: “Good shout, good shout. Yeah, without a doubt. Who knows what Bielsa is thinking, but he would be one on the lips of Daniel Levy.

“We won’t have to worry about it until the end of the season because Ryan [Mason] has got it, so good luck to the kid.”

Look but don’t touch

Let’s face it, Levy would be stupid to not eye up Bielsa.

Any club in the world wouldn’t be operating right if they didn’t like the thought of Bielsa being their manager.

The former Marseille and Athletic Bilbao manager has been superb at Elland Road, turning Leeds from a mid-table Championship club to one that’s seriously competitive in the Premier League.

He’s done this without a whole lot of change either with some of the starting line-up from Monday’s draw with Liverpool being at the club before his arrival.

Luke Ayling, Pascal Struijk, Ezgjan Alioski, Kalvin Phillips, Stuart Dallas and Tyler Roberts were all at Leeds before Bielsa came in. They were all Championship players.

Now look at them.

Why wouldn’t Spurs want someone who can do that?

Bielsa is a world-class manager and he’s bound to attract attention. But there’s no point Spurs coming anywhere near him because we really don’t believe he’ll want to leave.

In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani’s powerful ally has grown even stronger after a huge turn of events in Europe.
