Willy Gnonto team news emerges for Leeds United clash v Bournemouth as Phil Hay reveals indications from last 24 hours

Willy Gnonto will “most likely start” for Leeds United in their Premier League clash with Bournemouth today (30 April), according to Phil Hay.

The Whites travel to the Vitality Stadium currently sitting 16th in the table, six points and two places behind their opponents.

Gnonto has been handed just 53 minutes on the pitch across the club’s last five league matches, but is reportedly in line for a start against the Cherries.

“The indications over the past 24 hours have been that Gnonto will most likely start today – but Max Wober was a doubt and no word yet on whether he’ll be involved,” Hay wrote for The Athletic.

Strange situation for Gnonto

Many Leeds fans have been left very confused by Javi Gracia’s decision to constantly leave Gnonto out of the starting XI, with the youngster also often being overlooked when it comes to substitutions during matches.

He was even forced to watch the entire match against Leicester on Tuesday (25 April) from the bench, with the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Brenden Aaronson coming onto the pitch in the second half instead of Gnonto.

It seems very strange given the Italian’s clear talent and potential to cause chaos in the final third, a feat Whites fans will be hoping he can achieve today if he is given a role from the start at Bournemouth.

Whether Gracia has fallen out with the teenager or simply doesn’t trust him remains to be seen, but Leeds are in desperate need of creativity in the final third, and Gnonto definitely has what it takes to generate that creative spark going forward.
