Willy Gnonto agent speaks out on timeline of transfer decision as Leeds United receive ‘immediate’ interest
Willy Gnonto has options to leave Leeds United but his decision will wait until he has finished on international duty with the Italy Under-21 team, according to his agent Claudio Vigorelli.
Gazzetta Dello Sport reported on Tuesday (27 June) that both Everton and Fiorentina want to sign the winger “immediately” and remain interested in a deal despite the demands of Leeds being high.
However, speaking on Calciomercato’s TVPlay, Vigorelli said that any decision on the 19-year-old’s future would wait until he has finished at the Under-21 European Championship with Italy.

“I say that we are focused on the national team and the European championship,” he said.
“Then we have to talk to Leeds and we’ll see, but I think there will be options.
“The Premier League experience has been fantastic for him and I think he wants to continue in that direction. But right now, the focus is on the national team.”

Only a matter of time
Leeds fans will be resigned to the fact that a number of their more valuable assets will leave the club this summer after their relegation from the Premier League, and Gnonto will be pretty high up this list.
The likes of Tyler Adams, Rodrigo and Robin Koch have all already been linked with moves away from Elland Road ahead of the Championship, but none would be quite as painful as the Italian international.
For just £3.8million, this acquisition will go down as a stroke of genius by the Victor Orta regime, but the price they can get for Gnonto’s services now will be interesting to see.
There is no reported relegation clause in the attacker’s contract in West Yorkshire, so Leeds should remain in the box seat and be able to demand a pretty healthy price for his services.
It seems like proceedings will takeoff when the teenager returns from international duty, and it would come as no surprise to see a queue of suitors readying their cash.
In other Leeds United news, a club has failed to trigger the exit clause of one player who could leave this summer.
