Will Ferrell makes Leeds United plans after 49ers investment but Whites must get past Norwich
Will Ferrell is planning to be in attendance for his first Leeds United match if the club make it to the play-off final at Wembley this month, according to The Sun.
The paper reported via their website on 11 May that the Hollywood actor, who was recently revealed as a minor investor in the 49ers Enterprises ownership group, will be at the national stadium on 26 May if the Whites get past Norwich in the semi finals.
Daniel Farke’s side drew the first leg 0-0 at Carrow Road on 12 May, with the crucial return at Elland Road on Thursday night (17 May).
A source told The Sun: “Will has already been bitten by the football bug and he has been to a number of games in the UK before.
“But a trip to Wembley would be his first time at the stadium so he would love to come over if Leeds manage to get past Norwich, and experience the best that English football can offer.”
Daniel Farke must break miserable Leeds United play-off record
The lack of adventure in the first leg may be a frustration in light of how dynamic Leeds United have been for the majority of this season.
But in light of the collapse in form of late, particularly at the back, a clean sheet and the chance to take advantage of a home advantage at Elland Road puts Farke’s side in a decent position.
Fans will be far more concerned about reaching Wembley for the purpose of actually getting promoted rather than Ferrell’s attendance, but the American’s plans illustrate the gap between success and failure at this crucial stage of the year.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Whites appeared to be surging towards automatic promotion, so it is impossible not to be wary after the disappointment of landing in the play offs.
And with the club’s history in the end-of-season tournament having ultimately always seen them left with disappointment for more than 35 years Farke has to change the narrative in a big way.
Ferrell is one of numerous celebrity names from the worlds of sport and entertainment who have bought into Leeds United as part of the 49ers’ summer takeover, with the ownership group believed to have big plans.
But they will be far easier to implement back in the top flight so an immediate return to the Premier League should speed up the development under the new regime.
