‘Will be incredible’, ‘Amazing’ – These Leeds fans thrilled as Phil Hay delivers Bielsa news

Dave is a huge Leeds fan and ardent disciple of Bielsa ball. A career in print magazines that included editing PC Zone, launching PokerPlayer and redesigning The Big Issue has finally led Dave to writing about the love of his life, Leeds United. It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Phil Hay has been the beacon of all things Leeds United for years now and fans are delighted with the news that he's writing a book on Marcelo Bielsa.

Titled Marcelo Bielsa and the Rebirth of Leeds United... And it was Beautiful, the book is out on August 26.

Hay dropped the news on his Twitter page on Wednesday and plenty of fans lined up to react to the news.

Delighted to have been asked by @orionbooks and @SevenDialsBooks to write the story of Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United.

Bielsa has had a huge effect on Leeds. Promotion back to the Premier League was almost achieved in his first season, only for Leeds to get pipped to second place by Sheffield United.

Leeds went on to suffer play-off heartache but that just set the scene for a glorious second season that not even COVID could derail.

Leeds went on to win the Championship at a canter, with the lack of fans there to see it the only blot on the campaign.

Bielsa's assault on the Premier League has left pundits breathless and taken fans on a rollercoaster ride, and we're not even halfway through the season yet.

But it's not just on the pitch that Bielsa's influence can be seen. He's a holistic manager who has improved Leeds in almost every area, from Thorp Arch to Elland Road.
