‘Why am I crying so much?’, ‘Excellent’ – Many Leeds fans react as player pledges future
Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter after Kalvin Phillips pledged his future to the Yorkshire giants in an interview with FourFourTwo.
Phillips, 24, has been linked with a move away from Elland Road since Marcelo Bielsa transformed him into a fringe player to one that is edging closer towards an England call-up and playing in the Premier League.
Speaking to FourFourTwo for their April edition, the 24-year-old midfielder said: “I want to spend my career at Leeds and see the club doing well in the Premier League.”
Phillips’ comments are a major boost with the Sun reporting that the midfielder has attracted attention from Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho.
Although Spurs haven’t had the best of seasons and Mourinho’s reputation has gone down the pan a bit in the last couple of years, they are still a big club, who play regularly in Europe and he is still one of the top managers in the world.
For Phillips to come out and say that about Leeds, amid interest from Tottenham, is massive and hopefully, he can stick to those words if a bid comes in ahead of next season.
A section of Leeds fans on Twitter are understandably delighted with the midfielder’s interview and here is a selection of their tweets:

The next Leeds fan finishes off this round-up with a worrying tweet that will no doubt remind supporters that if the club doesn’t go up then Phillips might go up without them.
We hope he’s wrong, but it’s something people should be wary of.
