White stunned by ‘Tremendous’ Brenden Aaronson for Leeds United v West Brom
Brenden Aaronson may have gone under the radar yet again for Leeds United against West Brom on Saturday, but he has been singled out for praise.
The Whites battled to a 1-1 draw against the Baggies at Elland Road after Junior Firpo’s early opener was cancelled out by another header from Darnell Furlong.
Leeds remain top of the pile for promotion to the Premier League but a win against Tony Mowbray’s men would have kept their five-point gap.
While most of Leeds’ squad struggled at key points, there was one moment from Aaronson that caught the eye of those watching on.

White lauds Aaronson after perfect moment for Leeds
Aaronson has been on the receiving end of plenty of flak from Leeds’ supporters since the 2024/25 season kicked off but more often than not, he’s proven his worth.
The attacking midfielder is the Whites’ only natural number 10 and the United States international has been a regular feature for Farke.

Carabao Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Going into the second half, both teams were trying to get the win and in what was likely Leeds’ best chance to take the lead, Aaronson managed to drag Callum Styles out of the box with a run across.
It allowed Dan James to take a shot on goal with Ao Tanaka also getting in on the follow-up but unfortunately, Jayson Molumby was there to block it.
Speaking live on BBC Radio Leeds (1 March, 13:54), White singled out the playmaker for praise.
“It was a tremendous run from Aaronson, he goes across the pitch, dragging out Callum Styles which frees up Dan James along that far right,” he said.
“He gets the ball into the box and just waits and waits, checks on his weaker left foot and gets the shot away.
“The rebound is on for Tanaka who again could have got another shot off earlier but he takes a touch and then the chance is gone.”

Leeds have one hand on the Championship title
Leeds’ dominance in the Championship has been a sight to behold for everyone involved with the club.
The West Yorkshire outfit have been in some immense form over the last couple of weeks with the likes of Sunderland and Sheffield United both on the receiving ends of defeats at the hands of Farke’s men.
While taking all three points against West Brom will have been their main goal, the fact they’ve managed to push their place at the top of the Championship table is the main thing that matters after a dreadful run of fixtures.
There are only 11 games left in the Whites’ Championship season and if they can keep this level of form up until their final outing at Plymouth Argyle, it’s hard to see how they won’t earn promotion.
