What games Anton Stach will miss as injury expert reveals Leeds United blow

Anton Stach looks set for a spell on the sidelines at Leeds United.

Stach has impressed at times for Leeds this season, despite not always being a guaranteed starter under Daniel Farke in LS11.

There have been some concerns over Stach as his underlying stats may represent a worry at Leeds, but he was still given the nod to start against Aston Villa.

The German was forced off and replaced by Ao Tanaka as Leeds fell to a 2-1 defeat to Villa in the latest outing at Elland Road.

The Whites are now looking ahead to clashes against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, with Stach potentially set to miss out.

Anton Stach injury update emerges at Leeds United

Farke could soon face the sack at Leeds as pressure continues to intensify on the head coach as the Premier League season continues.

The ex-Norwich City boss needs all the help he can get if he is to turn results around and keep hold of his job in West Yorkshire moving forward.

Losing Stach won’t have been part of his plans, especially after calling on the midfielder from the start against Villa.

The summer signing played a positive role as Leeds dominated the early stages in LS11, but went on to lose after he was removed from the game due to concussion.

Stach went down awkwardly as he jumped for the ball alongside Emi Martinez for the opening goal before eventually being taken off.

Injury expert Ben Dinnery has revealed to Leeds Live that the 27-year-old could now miss nearly two weeks of action as a precaution.

He said: “The Premier League is what they class as an enhanced care setting. What that means is players basically having access to professionals in terms of club doctors, scientists, physiotherapists and so on and so forth.

Enhanced care settings would typically mean that a player cannot return to play until at least 12 days, unless it’s under exceptional circumstances, and then you could be looking at maybe a return to play around seven days, but that’s highly unlikely for the most part.

What games will Stach miss for Leeds United?

The midfielder suffered his knock on 23 November, so a return date could be expected in and around 5 December if all goes well.

Stach looks destined to miss Premier League matches against Manchester City on 29 November and Chelsea on 3 December as a result.

Fitness and match sharpness may prove a concern ahead of these clashes, which could see the German wait another week before being considered for a start.

If Farke is to wait for the number 18 to be completely ready, the 6 December visit of Liverpool to LS11 could also be a miss.

A more likely return from Stach could prove to be a trip to face Brentford on 14 December, but may well be under a different head coach.
