What Ange Postecoglou previously said about Leeds United as Nottingham Forest confirm hire
Leeds United will be facing an Ange Postecoglou side later this season.
While concerns have often been raised about Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United, he was not the first manager to depart in the Premier League.
Instead, it was Nuno, who, after a falling out with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, was sacked by the Premier League club on 8 September, just a week after the summer transfer window closed.
Postecoglou has been chosen to take over, and he was once linked with the Leeds job throughout his time at Scottish giants Celtic.

Leeds United had Ange Postecoglou on manager shortlist
After the sacking of Jesse Marsch at Elland Road back in February 2023, Leeds were on the lookout for a new manager to keep them in the Premier League.
In the end, it was Javi Gracia who took the job at Leeds, and with just a 25 per cent win ratio throughout his short time at Leeds, it is a spell that will certainly be forgotten.
However, the Spaniard was not the Whites’ first choice for the job, and among the list of candidates for the Leeds job was Celtic boss, Postecoglou.
The Australian had plenty of success with the Scottish giants, ultimately earning him interest from Premier League clubs.
Postecoglou was asked whether he found the interest from Leeds as a compliment, and as quoted by the Glasgow Times, he said: “It is if I take any notice of it.”
Ultimately, he didn’t, and he went on to win the treble with Celtic before moving on to join Tottenham, where he would be sacked after winning the Europa League.

When will Leeds face Ange Postecoglou’s Nottingham Forest?
Leeds have an away trip to Fulham to attend to this weekend, looking to pick up their second win of the Premier League campaign.
Encounters against Wolves, Bournemouth, Tottenham, Burnley, West Ham and Brighton will follow before Postecoglou’s Forest play host to the Whites on 8 November.
Though it wouldn’t be a surprise to see that become another fixture moved for TV broadcast, with this weekend’s game at Craven Cottage the only one so far this season that hasnt been moved.
