Weston McKennie spotted arriving at airport ahead of flight to sign for Leeds United
Weston McKennie has been spotted arriving at the airport in Italy ahead of his flight to England on Sunday to sign for Leeds United.
The American attended his parent club Juventus’ match against Monza to sign autographs earlier in the day [Marco Conterio, 29 January] but is now due to arrive for his Whites medical and contract signing.
A loan-to-buy deal has been agreed between the clubs, with the conditions included expected to easily turn the move into a permanent obligation come the end of the season.
Romeo Agresti of Goal Italia posted the footage which was shared by Romano, showing the prospective Leeds United signing at the airport and saying: “I don’t speak Italian really that well. Thanks for the support. See you guys soon.”

But everything is going to plan currently to get this deal all but done by the end of the weekend, and with any luck it should be cleared before the madness of deadline day descends.
Jesse Marsch is likely to have already begun work to fit the latest American arrival into his Leeds United team, as a partnership with international captain Tyler Adams is sure to be the plan.
Whether Marc Roca is set to lose his place, or the manager plans to switch to a midfield three that suited both Adams and McKennie so well for the USMNT in Qatar, remains to be seen.
The United squad is now packed with attacking options so it will be tricky to reduce the number who can be crammed into the starting XI.
But what is certainly clear assuming McKennie is sealed in the next day or so is that Marsch has got options nearly everywhere now, and results need to follow.
In other Leeds United news, another target seemingly bound for Elland Road is now subject of a late-January approach from a Premier League rival.
