Weston McKennie jets into Milan to surprise Juventus team in Leeds United news
Leeds United midfielder Weston McKennie was spotted in Milan to surprise his former Juventus teammates ahead of their 1-0 Derby d’Italia triumph over Inter on Sunday [19 March].
The American international left the Serie A giants at the end of the January window, with the Yorkshire side holding the option to make his move permanent in the summer in a potential £30m deal.
With the 24-year-old still trying to adapt to life in West Yorkshire, it seems as if he still had a part of his mind back in Italy after being spotted greeting the Juve team.
The Old Lady took to their Twitter account [19 March] to show McKennie greeting the team ahead of their crucial clash with Inter on Sunday evening.
The tweet in Italian read: “Surprise guest at lunch.”

With the Whites now on international break, it seemed McKennie was always going to make the trip back to Juve to greet his old teammates or current teammates if his loan move fails to materialise this summer.
The 24-year-old is still adapting to the team at Thorp Arch following his move from the Old Lady in January and had to lose the manager that wanted him in Jesse March which must have knocked his confidence back a bit.
And it certainly seems as if a part of him misses Juventus, having established himself as a key figure at the club despite his limited opportunities under Max Allegri.
Whether McKennie dreams of returning after his loan spell remains incredibly uncertain especially considering Allegri making his stance clear on what he thinks of the player and his future beyond this summer.
Regardless, the American international certainly holds his own future in his hands. Will that be at Elland Road during the 2023/24 campaign? That’s the £30m question.
In other Leeds United news, long-planned contract negotiations have “not progressed” leaving Elland Road exit door open.
