Weston McKennie completes Leeds United medical and set to sign long term deal – Fabrizio Romano
Weston McKennie has completed his medical at Leeds United and is set to sign a long-term deal at Elland Road, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Whites have made the move on an initial loan deal with a buy option of £30million that could rise to £35million as a total package, with the contract already done should that happen.
The Juventus midfielder is set to become Jesse Marsch’s third recruit of the January transfer window after the signings of Austrian international Max Wober and club-record signing Georginio Rutter.

Romano confirmed the 24-year-old had completed his medical via Twitter on Monday morning (30 January).
He said: “Weston McKennie completes medical tests as new Leeds United player, he’s set to sign long term deal and then the official announcement will follow.
“€1.2m loan fee, €33m buy option plus add-ons up to €40m total potential package.”
Wow
Leeds have certainly got their act together during this January transfer window, and the signing of McKennie is yet another statement of intent from the West Yorkshire club.
At the beginning of the month, a left-back, a striker and a midfielder were the key priorities – following the departure of Mateusz Klich – and Victor Orta has delivered signings in every one of these positions.
There can now be no excuses for Marsch in the second half of the season, as he has the squad capable of pushing on towards the top half of the Premier League table. If he can’t propel Leeds away from the relegation zone then it is confirmation that he, unfortunately, isn’t the man to take the club forward.
The Leeds boss will be thrilled at the opportunity to work with McKennie, who has picked up Champions League experience at Juventus and will pair up with his international teammate Tyler Adams in the heart of the Leeds midfield.
