Lee Hendrie reacts live on Sky Sports as Daniel Farke ‘furious’ with incident in West Brom vs Leeds United
Lee Hendrie changed his mind live on air with regards to the penalty decision that went against Leeds United in their 1-0 Championship defeat at West Brom.
Wilfried Gnonto latched on to Ethan Ampadu’s pass over the top and entered the West Brom box, where he appeared to be challenged before he could get a shot away.
Referee Graham Scott waved play on, however, much to the annoyance of Leeds boss Daniel Farke on the Hawthorns touchline.

Covering the game as a pundit for Sky Sports News [29 December, 8:54pm], Hendrie said: “Initially I didn’t think it was [a penalty].
“But you can quite clearly see he pulls him back on the approach of the ball. Daniel Farke was absolutely furious at that.”
Should have been given
Gnonto and Leeds have every right to feel aggrieved at this decision in the first half of Friday’s (29 December) contest.
West Brom defender Cedric Kipre caught the Leeds attacker and prevented him from getting his shot away.
Had VAR been in use, the man in the middle would almost certainly have been asked to check the pitchside monitor, and it is likely he would have changed his mind – much like Hendrie.

It would not be fair to hit out at the referee, but you can see why Farke was so frustrated with the officials in general.
In a game separated by a single Grady Diangana goal, this spot-kick would have made all the difference.
Away from that incident, Leeds offered so very little in attack and Farke must also aim some of the blame at his players, or indeed himself for his tactics.
Either way, this was just another moment of frustration in another game to forget for the Whites.
In other Leeds United news, one player scored a 3/10 rating for his poor display at The Hawthorns.
