‘We don’t know what the situation will be’ – Sky Sports pundit predicts Leeds clash v Swansea

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will take another giant stride towards promotion on Sunday by beating Swansea.

Leeds travel to South Wales off the back of thrashing Stoke 5-0 at Elland Road on Thursday night to move themselves top of the Championship table and, more importantly, six points clear of third-placed Brentford.

Brentford play before Leeds – again – this weekend as they play at Derby on Saturday.

Prutton has hinted that there could be some extra pressure on Leeds if the Bees win that match but he has still tipped the Whites to secure a 2-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium.

“Swansea are still knocking on the door of the play-offs, and it will be interesting to see how they cope this weekend with all their rivals playing before them,” Prutton wrote on the Sky Sports website.

“Leeds thrashed Stoke on Thursday and took a big step closer to promotion. They are playing after Brentford so we don’t know what the situation will be heading into this game, but they will want to get the job done sooner or later. They’ll win here for me.”

We think that this is the toughest match left for Leeds this season.

Swansea have been in decent form since the campaign restarted last month, earning 10 points out of a possible 15 and they will be fighting hard to try and beat rivals Cardiff to a spot in the play-offs.

The Welsh side have some tough games still to play so they will want to make the most of any home games they have left and this clash with Leeds is their penultimate fixture at the Liberty Stadium.

But, Swansea’s eagerness to get into the play-offs will not match Leeds’ desire to win automatic promotion and, potentially, the Championship title.

Marcelo Bielsa saw his side win 5-0 against Stoke on Thursday night.

Stoke are awful and a lot worse than the Swans so it’s unlikely there will be another big win on the cards this weekend.

But we still think it will be a bit of a tighter game with Leeds maybe winning 1-0 or 2-1.
